The 3rd meeting of the 2nd Council of the China Federation of Internet Societies (CFIS) was recently held in Jincheng, Shanxi. The meeting was chaired by Niu Yibing, CFIS President, Vice Director of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, and Vice Director of the Cyberspace Administration of China.
Key items reviewed and approved included the 2024 financial report, the 2025 investment plan, adjustments to council membership, the CFIS Group Standards Plan (2025–2028), and related regulations.
The meeting highlighted that this year marks the final phase of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the start of preparations for the 15th Five-Year Plan, and an important year following CFIS’s leadership transition. It reaffirmed CFIS’s role as a national, unified, and hub-style organization in the cyberspace sector. Council members were urged to align with national priorities, take on greater responsibility, and actively contribute to building a strong digital nation. The federation also emphasized the need for stronger coordination, better internal governance, and high-quality development among Internet-related social organizations.
Before the main session, CFIS held its first President’s Executive Meeting of 2025 and the 4th Standing Committee Meeting of the 2nd Council. Reviewed and approved matters included the admission of new members, the nomination of the chairperson for the CFIS Live Streaming and Short Video Professional Committee, the leadership transition plan and chairperson nomination for the CFIS Digital Economy Professional Committee, among other items.
Council representatives, CFIS Secretariat officials, and department heads attended the meetings.
