Recently, the @Sprout Minor Internet Protection Initiative (hereinafter referred to as the @Sprout Initiative) launched its Legal Education Warms Childrens Hearts, @Sprout for Growth campaign in Anqing, Anhui Province.

The event was organized by the China Federation of Internet Societies (CFIS), hosted by the Anqing City Network Education Association, and co-organized by the Beijing Union Universitys Research Center on Internet Literacy Education. The activities included an opening ceremony, the donation of educational books, and legal courses. Key figures from CFIS, the Cyberspace Administration of Anqing, the Anqing Modern Information Center, and the Anqing Internet Education Association attended the event, donating copies of Handbook of Online Safety Tips for Minors to local schools. The handbook focuses on topics such as identifying online scams and protecting privacy, using case studies and cartoons to address online risks faced by minors. Following the donation ceremony, Professor Hang Xiaoping from BUUs research center delivered a lecture for teachers and students on How Adolescents Can Use the Internet Responsibly.

In accordance with the Regulations to Protect Minors in Cyberspace and other laws, CFIS officially launched the 2025 @Sprout Initiative on March 25, including six areas of emphasis: legal education, minor protection, literacy enhancement, assistance, research, and international exchanges, with 20 specific projects designed to increase the reach and effectiveness of the initiative. The goal is to create a safer and healthier online environment for minors.

Looking ahead, CFIS will implement more effective measures and work with various sectors of society to build a safer online space, ensuring the healthy growth of minors.
