On March 30, at the launch event of the 2025 China Internet Media Forum themed “Leveraging Diverse Forces to Co-create a Prosperous Content Ecosystem,” Zhao Lina, former goalkeeper for the China Women’s National Football Team and founder of “Football Planet,” a football-related charity project, shared an inspiring story about football and young girls. “Football may not directly change their fate,” Zhao said, “but when 8 or 9 people come together because of football, it creates infinite possibilities.”
The launch event was held in Nanning, Guangxi. It was hosted by the Bureau of Network News Information Communication of the Cyberspace Administration of China and organized by Ecns.cn. Co-organizers included the China Federation of Internet Societies, the Cyberspace Administration of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Tencent, Weibo, Douyin, Kuaishou, Bilibili, and Xiaohongshu, with support from the China Internet Development Foundation.
