5th China New E-commerce Conference Hosts Technology Innovation Sub-Forum in Yanji

The Technology Innovation Sub-Forum of the 5th China New E-commerce Conference took place in Yanji, Jilin Province, on the afternoon of July 27. Industry leaders, academics, and researchers came together to explore how technology and innovation are shaping the future of e-commerce.

 

Wu Hai, Chairman of the China Internet Investment Fund,  delivered the opening speech, sharing his insights and experiences on how capital can empower technological transformation in new e-commerce and promote industrial integration. He emphasized the importance of strategic planning for the long-term development of the industry. Li Yunfeng, Deputy Director and First-Level Inspector of the Comprehensive Cyberspace Governance Bureau, Cyberspace Administration of China, underscored the need for a regulated and orderly online environment to support the healthy development of e-commerce. Ji Liwei, Vice President of Public Affairs at Alibaba Group, shared insights on the companys technological innovations and practical applications, highlighting the responsibilities of industry leaders.

In the keynote session, speakers offered diverse perspectives. Chen Jufeng, CTO of Xianyu, discussed technological upgrades for e-commerce platforms. Prominent host and livestreamer Tu Lei addressed the value of livestreamers in the new e-commerce ecosystem. Li Han, a researcher at Alibaba Cloud Research Center, explored AI-driven empowerment, while Dong Haifeng, Chairman of Qianxun Holdings, focused on compliance issues in live commerce, sharing cutting-edge insights and case studies.

A highlight of the sub-forum was the launch of Taotian Groups Generative Recommendation Technology Service. This innovation moves beyond traditional recommendation algorithms by integrating multimodal cognitive technology and global knowledge, shifting from opaque, efficiency-driven systems to transparent, user-focused services. The technology aims to transform the Taobao homepage into a discovery-driven consumption space.

Peoples Daily launched the Perpetual LightInitiative to help e-businesses protect their online reputation. The initiative provides services like risk alerts, crisis management, and brand-building support, aiming to promote the responsible growth of e-commerce platforms and livestreamers. Ma Qiang, Director of External Cooperation at v.people.cn, showcased how to use AI in rural revitalization and media innovation, exploring new ways for technology to enhance the cultural and tourism industries. Case studies from Jilin Radio and TV Station and Zhangjiajies Wulingyuan District showcased real-world applications. Meanwhile, Qu Qixing, Director of the E-commerce Department at the University of International Business and Economics, shared research on risk assessment in cross-border e-commerce and the role of sellers in building trust on platforms, offering valuable insights for businesses.

The sub-forum facilitated multi-stakeholder dialogue and showcased case studies, building consensus on technological innovation and high-quality development in e-commerce. It also paved the way for new ways to integrate technology with the real economy and cultural heritage.
