On Sep. 28, the finals of the China-ASEAN “Safeguarding the Silk Road” AI Security Contest—co-hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Guangxi Big Data Development Bureau, and the Nanning Municipal People’s Government, and organized by the China Federation of Internet Societies and other entities—took place in Nanning.
The contest was divided into five tracks: computing power security, algorithm security, data security, application security, and real-world attack-defense scenarios. A total of 209 professional teams took part, representing top domestic security firms, leading universities and research institutes, ASEAN international students, and major enterprises across Guangxi. The attack-defense track had already concluded successfully on Sep. 9 at the China-ASEAN Digital Economy Industrial Park. The other four tracks—computing power, algorithm, data, and application security—advanced through online preliminaries and reviews, with multiple top teams selected. Following expert recommendations, 10 high-caliber teams were chosen for the on-site finals for live presentations and demonstrations.
In the finals, the ten elite teams presented their projects on key themes including AI security governance, open-source supply chains and AI model safety, application security, and RCEP cross-border data protection. They showcased their innovations, potential industry impact, and future prospects. Expert judges and investors offered constructive feedback on strengths and areas for improvement, while discussing practical deployment, scalability, replicability, and real-world industry applications with the teams.
As part of Guangxi’s “AI Super League” Initiative, the contest establishes an international, forward-looking platform for AI security collaboration. It aims to deepen ties between China and ASEAN nations in technology, standards, industry, and talent. By advancing safe, reliable, and controllable AI technologies, it drives innovation across sectors, injects strong momentum into Guangxi’s high-quality economic and social development, strengthens the China-ASEAN community through shared smart capabilities, and contributes to building a global cyberspace that is peaceful, secure, open, cooperative, and well-ordered.
