With the theme of “Internet Integrity and Good Life”,2018 China Internet Integrity Conference was held in Beijing today. The conference released China E-commerce Integrity Development Report for the first time, released the logo, poster and excellent short videos of the conference, and issued certificates to the producers of the shortlisted short videos. More than 200 people from government, internet enterprises and internet social organizations attended the conference.
The conference, jointly sponsored by China Federation of Internet Societies(hereinafter referred to as CFIS)and China Internet Development Foundation, and hosted by people.cn and v. people.cn, aims to further highlight the concept of internet integrity, strengthen self-discipline of the internet industry, and vigorously create a law-based and integrate internet environment. Representatives and experts carried out in-depth discussions and exchanges around the two themes of “E-commerce Integrity and Platform Responsibility” and “E-commerce Integrity and Business Model Innovation”.
The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) has held a series of activities for four consecutive years to promote the National Internet Integrity Day, and has carried out special campaigns on discredit websites and websites that had violated regulations. During the recent special campaign on we-media, the CAC cracked down on a batch of we-media accounts in order to prevent the spread of fake news and rumors. At the same time, regulations and normative documents issued during the past two years all require that the website platforms establish an internet credit archives system, which reflects the resolute attitude of the CAC to encourage internet integrity and combat breach of internet integrity.
"Strengthening the construction of internet integrity requires the participation of many subjects, such as the leadership of the Party committee, government management, enterprises perform their responsibility, social supervision, self-discipline of citizens, and so on. The internet societies have a great role to play. "Ren Xianliang, vice-chairman of the Social Construction Committee of the NPC and chairman of the CFIS. He pointed out in his speech that the CFIS would actively mobilize and organize internet societies and internet enterprises at all levels to participate in the construction of internet integrity.
In recent years, with joint efforts by the relevant state departments and internet companies, some illegal and irregular activities such as fake and shoddy, false advertising, false transactions, malicious reviews in the field of e-commerce have been curbed to a certain extent. At the same time, with the establishment of consumer dispute resolution mechanism, compensation prepayment and operator's first accountability system in the field of e-commerce, the degree of consumer satisfaction has been significantly improved. At present, the CAC, together with relevant departments, is stepping up research on the establishment of a blacklist system and a joint disciplinary mechanism for breach of internet integrity, which will further promote the institutionalization and standardization of all aspects of the construction of internet integrity and enhance the credibility of the internet industry.
China Internet Integrity Conference was held for the first time, and the main focus this year was on the integrity in the field of e-commerce. In the future, the conference would be held once a year with its focus on different fields. The conference is expected to promote internet integrity continuously and help build China into an internet powerhouse.
