2nd China New E-commerce Conference held in Changchun, Jilin

        On July 29, the second China New E-Commerce Conference was held in Changchun, Jilin. With the theme of “New E-Commerce, New Consumption and New Development”, the conference aimed to facilitate the resumption of work and production as well as a stable and healthy development in economy and society by taking advantage of the new E-commerce’s ability to connect online and offline platforms, urban and rural areas, domestic and international markets. Jing Junhai, secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Jilin Provincial People's Congress, and Sheng Qiuping, a member of the Leading Party Members Group and vice-minister of Commerce, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Sheng Ronghua, deputy head of both the Cyberspace Administration of China and the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, and Ren Hongbin, secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, delivered video speeches. Han Jun, a vice-secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Jilin Provincial Governor, presided over the opening ceremony. Ren Xianliang, vice chairman of the NPC Social Development Affairs Committee, secretary General of the World Internet Conference, and president of China Federation of Internet Societies, presided over the main forum.

       A project signing ceremony was also held at the opening ceremony, with a total of 15 companies sealed cooperating contracts with Jilin Province.

       At the main forum, Liu Liehong, chairman of China United Network Communications Group, Zhao Chunjiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the National Engineering Research Center for Information Technology in Agriculture, as well as other business managers in the new E-commerce area delivered speeches. Furthermore, “China’s new E-commerce Development Report 2022” and the collective standard “Standard for Credit Appraisal of Webcast Performers” were released.

       The conference consisted of five sub-forums, which focused on environment building of E-commerce, technological innovation, consumer service, integrative development and international cooperation of E-commerce.

       Guided by the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Commerce and the Jilin Provincial People's Government, the conference was hosted by China Federation of Internet Societies, the Jilin Provincial Internet Information Office, the Jilin Provincial Department of Commerce and the Changchun Municipal People's Government. The conference attracted over 500 guests from government departments, civil society organizations, Internet enterprises, research institutions and the press.
