The China Federation of Internet Societies (CFIS) had its 2nd council’s inaugural meeting on Dec. 5. Zhuang Rongwen, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, director of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, and Zhan Chengfu, member of the Party Leadership Group and vice minister of Civil Affairs, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Niu Yibing, deputy director of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and deputy director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, presided over the gathering.
During the meeting, Niu Yibing was chosen as the chairman for the new council. Ma Huateng, Wang Xiaohui, Mao Wei, Ye Zhenzhen, Guo Tong, Xu Ran, Robin Li, Yang Gu, Zhang Lubin, Chen Ying, Shao Xiaofeng, Zhou Hongyi, Hong Liang, Guo Quanqi, Cheng Wei, Cheng Yixiao, and Chu Xuejun were elected as vice chairs. Zhao Hui was appointed as the secretary-general.
The meeting also elected the executive members of the 2nd CFIS Council and deliberated relevant documents.
